This case study focuses on the implementation and effectiveness of an integrated approach to English learning in fifth-grade students. By combining the four language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) with subject-related content, students are provided with amore comprehensive and meaningful language learning experience. Background: In traditional language teaching, skills such as listening, speaking, reading, and writing are often taught separately, resulting in fragmented and disconnected learning experiences. However, the integrated language teaching approach seeks to address this issue by incorporating content from other subjects into English lessons. This approach requires teachers to design lessons that connect language learning with meaningful real-life contexts, promoting adeeper understanding of both language skills and subject matter. Methodology: This case study was conducted in afifth-grade classroom over a period of six weeks. The integrated language teaching approach was implemented by designing lessons that integrated English language skills with subject-related content such as science, social studies, and mathematics. Both qualitative and quantitative data were collected to assess the effectiveness of the approach. Results: Qualitative data, such as classroom observations and student interviews, revealed that students were highly engaged and motivated during the integrated language lessons. They were able to see the practicality and relevance of English in the context of other subjects, leading to adeeper understanding of both language and subject matter.
