Introduction: Rareearthelementshaveuniqueelectronicconfigurations thatresultinfascinatingoptical,magnetic,andcatalytic properties.Researchintothesynthesisandcharacterizationofrare earthcompoundshasgainedsignificantattentioninrecentyears. Infraredspectroscopyprovidesvaluableinformationaboutthe molecularstructureandfunctionalgroupspresentinacompound, whichiscrucialforunderstandingtheirphysicalandchemical properties. InfraredSpectroscopy: Infraredspectroscopyinvolvestheinteractionofinfrared radiationwithmatter,whichcausestheexcitationofmolecular vibrations.Differentmolecularbondsvibrateatspecific frequencies,resultingincharacteristicinfraredabsorptionbands. Byanalyzingtheseabsorptionbands,valuableinformationabout themolecularstructurecanbeobtained. ExperimentalMethod: Rareearthpropionatesaltsweresynthesizedusingasimple precipitationmethod.Thesampleswerethencharacterizedusing Fourier-transforminfrared(FTIR)spectroscopy.TheFTIRspectra wererecordedintherangeof4000-400cm^-1,whichcoversthe rangeofmostcommonfunctionalgroupspresentinorganic compounds,includingpropionategroups.
