Ladies and gentlemen, It is agreat pleasure to be here today to speak to you about my ideal vision for the English language. As an international language, English has become the world's most commonly used language in international communication and the dominant language of the internet. It is also the official or dominant language of many countries around the world. However, my ideal vision for the English language goes beyond its current status and importance. First and foremost, Ibelieve that the English language should serve as auniversal tool for communication and understanding. It should not be asource of division, but rather ameans of bringing people from different cultures and backgrounds together. In an increasingly globalized world, we need alanguage that allows us to communicate effectively and build relationships with people from all corners of the world. To achieve this vision, we need to embrace the diversity of the English language. English is spoken in many different countries and regions, each with its own distinct dialects and accents. Rather than seeing these differences as obstacles to communication, we should celebrate them and embrace them as part of the richness of the English language. We need to recognize that there is no one "correct" way to speak English and that every speaker's voice and accent should be valued and respected. At the same time, we need to ensure that the English language remains accessible to everyone, regardless of their background or education level. This means promoting language learning both inside and outside of the classroom, and providing equal opportunities for people to develop their English-language skills. We should also encourage the use of plain language -clear, concise, and easy to understand -in all aspects of life, from education and business to government and media. Finally, my ideal vision for the English language includes acommitment to social responsibility. English is alanguage of power and privilege, and it is our responsibility to use it in away that promotes equality and social justice. This means promoting language diversity and celebrating non-standard dialects and accents. It means using the English language to break down barriers rather than reinforce them, and advocating for the rights of marginalized and underrepresented voices. In conclusion, my ideal vision for the English language is one that is diverse, accessible, and socially responsible. As we continue to use and shape this language, we must be mindful of its power and potential to connect people around the world
