OUTLINE OF THE STEP STUDY TEAM Thanks to Arthur S. of Texas for putting this very useful word doc together. 1. Purpose a. To provide the person who has not worked the Steps with motivation and assistan__ in Alcoholics “working the Steps” of our AA program of recovery as defined in the book Anonymous . b. To provide those who h__e worked the Steps with the opportunity and motivation to do it again and share their experien__, strength and hope. 2. Plan a. Teams should be no more than 12 persons (8 -10 are preferred). __ke up each team so that it has about 3- 4members who h__e worked the Steps in the __nner described in the Big Book and about 8- 9members who h__e not worked the Steps in this __nner, but who are willing to try. b. Each team selects its own meeting pla__ and time. Preferably, this should not conflict with the 8PM AA meeting. Team meetings should not be asubstitute for AA group activity and fellowship. c. Things you’ll need: Alcoholics Anonymous 1). The book (called the Big Book from this point on). Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions 2). The book (called the 12&12 from this point on). 3). Anotebook. Aspiral bound notebook seems to work best. 3. Guidelines a. There is no for__l meeting for__t and each group is free to select its own. Most groups rotate the chairperson from week to week and simply discuss the assigned __terial and share their experien__s in applying it to their life. b. Prior to coming to the meeting, each member must read and examine the portions of the Big Book and 12&12 relating to the Step under study. Also, prior to the meeting, complete the assig__ent of answering questions that will be covered in the meeting. c. The function of the team will be to apply the principles of each Step to their lives and share their experien__ in adiscussion of each Step. th d. Each team member is encouraged to use their notebook to record notes, assig__ents, 4Step inventory, phone numbers, etc. th e. A4 Step will be written and asubstantial period of time (all that is needed) will be spent in ____ysis of this Step and resolving any problems that arise.
