Therefore,itisnecessarytobalancetherelationshipbetween urbanizationandecosystemservicestoachievesustainable development.TakingtheHulunbuir,BaotouandEjinaregionsas anexample,thispaperusesamulti-scaleanalysismethodto exploretheimpactofurbanizationonecosystemservicesinarid areasandtherelationshipsthatneedtobebalancedinthis process.Throughinvestigations,literaturereviews,andmodel simulations,theresultsshowthattheimpactofurbanizationon ecosystemservicesiscomplexanddiverse,withmultiplebalance relationships.Therefore,comprehensivemeasuresshouldbetaken toensurethesustainabledevelopmentofecosystemservices.
