This research paper aims to analyze the changes in cultivated land quality and their spatial-temporal variations during this 15-year period, highlighting the challenges and potential solutions for sustainable urban development in China. Introduction: China has witnessed unprecedented urbanization over the past few decades, with substantial population migrations from rural areas to cities. As aresult, the demand for urban development and infrastructure has put immense pressure on the limited resources, particularly cultivated land. Understanding the changes in cultivated land quality and their spatial-temporal variations is crucial for ensuring sustainable urbanization and food security in China. Methods: This research paper utilizes acombination of quantitative and qualitative methods to investigate the changes in cultivated land quality and their spatial-temporal variations. Satellite imagery, land use data, and socio-economic indicators were collected and analyzed. Statistical techniques such as descriptive statistics and trend analysis were applied to identify overall patterns and changes in cultivated land quality over the study period. Results and Analysis: The results highlight asignificant decline in the overall quality of cultivated land in China from 2000 to 2015. Several factors have contributed to this decline, including land conversion for urban development, industrialization, and environmental degradation. The spatial-temporal analysis reveals aclear trend of agricultural land loss around major urban areas, leading to food security concerns. Discussion: The findings of this research highlight the urgent need for sustainable land use practices and policies in China's urbanization process. Several potential strategies to mitigate the negative impact on cultivated land quality include promoting urban agriculture, implementing land protection measures, and optimizing land-use planning. These strategies can help address food security concerns and ensure sustainable urban development. Conclusion:
