Teaching Methods: 1.Listening-and-answering activity to help the students go through with the listening material. 2.Individual ,pair or group work to make every student work in class. Teaching Aids: 1.a globe. 2.an empty glass, abottle of water and abottle of vegetable oil Teaching Procedures: Step IGreetings and lead-in. Ask the students to guess ariddle: It’s very important to all the animals and plants. It’s also important to human beings. It’s liquid at room temperature. Every day you keep in touch with it. You can’t live without it. (a thing) Step II Warming up. Teacher show the students the globe, and ask many questions. Task 1: Do some experiments following the instructions in the book. Experiment 1Cover aglass of water with apiece of thick paper. Put one hand on the paper and turn the glass upside down. Slowly take your hand away from the paper. Experiment 2Pour water and vegetable oil into aglass. Experiment 3Put apiece of chalk in water for 24 hours.
