Abstract Inthisstudy,aseriesofbidentateligandshavebeen synthesizedandcombinedwithpalladiumtoformnewpalladium complexes.Theobtainedcomplexeswerecharacterizedusing varioustechniquesincludingUV-Vis,IR,andNMRspectroscopy. ThesecomplexeswerethenusedascatalystsinSuzukicoupling reactions.Thereactionperformanceofthecomplexeshasbeen analyzedandcomparedwithtraditionalpalladiumcatalysts.The resultsshowedthatthenewlysynthesizedpalladiumcomplexes exhibitedexcellentcatalyticpropertiesinSuzukicoupling reactions,withhighselectivityandgoodyield.Thisresearch providesanewdirectionforthedevelopmentofhighlyefficient andselectiveSuzukicouplingcatalystsusingbidentateligands. Introduction Suzukicouplingreactionisawidelyusedmethodforthe formationofcarbon-carbonbondsinorganicsynthesis.Itinvolves thecouplingofaboronicacidorboronateesterwithanarylor vinylhalidemediatedbyapalladiumcatalyst.Palladium complexesarepreferredcatalystsduetotheirhighactivity, selectivity,andversatility.Inparticular,twoclassesofpalladium catalystsarecommonlyusedinSuzukicouplingreactions: monodentateligandsandbidentateligands. Themonodentateligandscommonlyusedarephosphines, suchastriphenylphosphine(PPh3).However,theseligandshave somelimitations,suchastheformationofPd(0)colloids,which canreducecatalyticactivity.Inaddition,thereisaneedforlarge amountsofligands,whichcanleadtohigherreactioncosts.
