Therefore, English has attracted more and more attention from society, especially for English majors in universities. As aresult, the development of English teaching has received widespread attention from academia. With the increasing emphasis on practical application-oriented teaching methods, the multidimensional reading ability of English majors has become increasingly important. Research Objectives: The purpose of this study is to investigate the current situation of multidimensional reading ability of English majors in Hubei University, and to identify possible factors affecting their reading ability. Research Methods: The study will use questionnaires to collect data. The sample group will be selected from third- and fourth-year English majors in Huazhong Normal University. The questionnaire will consist of two parts: the first part will collect basic information about the participants, such as their gender, age, major, and English proficiency level. The second part will focus on their multidimensional reading ability, including four dimensions: literacy awareness, reading comprehension ability, critical thinking ability, and reading strategies. Expected Results: The results of the study will provide acomprehensive understanding of the multidimensional reading ability of English majors in Huazhong Normal University. The study will identify the strengths and weaknesses of their reading ability and explore the possible factors affecting their reading ability. The study is expected to provide some reference for the improvement of English teaching in universities.
