ApplicationtoGreenKidsProgramforMCPSorLCPSSchools GreenKidsisagrant-fundededucationaloutreachprogramoftheAudubonNaturalistSocietythat providesparticipatingpublicschoolswithtwoyearsoffreeresourcesandfieldexperiencestofoster environmentalliteracywhilemeetingestablishedcurriculumgoals.GreenKidsoperatesinpartnership withMontgomeryCountyPublicSchools(MCPS)inMarylandandLoudounCountyPublicSchools (LCPS)inVirginia.Participationinthistwo-yearprogramentitlesyourschoolto: ● Environmentaleducationlessons,deliveredbyGreenKidseducators,thatsupportandenhance statecurriculumstandards ● Annualgreenschoolteachertrainingsessionsfortheentirestaff ● Supportforenergyreductionandrecyclingprograms ● A$500leadteacherstipendperyear ● A$500fieldtripsubsidyperyear ● A$500peryeargrantforschoolinfrastructureprojectssuchasschoolgardens ● Assistanceinattractingcommunitypartnerstosupportenvironmentalactivities ● GuidanceinapplyingforMarylandGreenSchoolCertificationfromtheMarylandAssociationfor EnvironmentalandOutdoorEducationoraVirginiaNaturallyAwardfromtheVirginiaDepartmentof GameandInlandFisheries ● SupportandresourcesasamemberoftheGreenKidsNetworkofalumnischoolsuponcompletion ofthetwo-yearprogram ELIGIBILITYANDAPPLICATION 1. AllMontgomeryCounty,MarylandandLoudounCounty,VirginiaPublicSchoolsareeligiblewiththe exceptionofthoseschoolsthathavealreadycompletedatwo-yearGreenKidspartnership. 2. Applicationsmustbecomplete,includingPartsI,II,III,andIV.Applicationsmustincludethe principarssignatureonPartsIandII.Theprincipalmustindicatesupportforthegoalofearninga stategreenschoolaward. 3.
