Methodology Thestudywasconductedamonguniversitystudentsstudying Englishasasecondlanguageintheirclassrooms.Astructured questionnairewasdistributedrandomlyamong100students,and thedatawereanalyzedusingdescriptivestatisticsandchi-square tests. Results Thestudyfoundthatalmosthalfofthestudents(48%) participatedinEnglishclassestoamoderatetohighextent,while 42%ofthestudentshadlowparticipationlevels.Thefactors influencingparticipationwerefearofmakingmistakes,language barriers,andshyness.Gender,age,andacademicleveldidnot significantlyinfluencetheparticipationlevelofthestudents. Thestudyalsofoundthatteachersusedvariousmethodsto encourageparticipation,suchasgroupdiscussions,debates, role-playing,andpresentations.However,somestudentsfelt uncomfortableparticipatingintheclassroomactivitiesduetoa lackofinterestorunderstandingofthetopic. Discussion Thefindingsofthestudyhavesignificantimplicationsfor enhancingstudentparticipationinEnglishlanguageclassrooms.
