Dear readers, Today, Iwould like to share with you my personal reflection on the teaching of the short story "关怀" (care) in my Chinese literature class. This story, written by the famous Chinese author Lu Xun, tells the tale of aman named Xianglin's journey from poverty to wealth and his eventual realization that some things, like genuine care and concern, cannot simply be bought. As ateacher, Ihave read and taught this story countless times, but this year, Idecided to take adifferent approach. Rather than simply analyzing the literary elements and discussing the themes, Iwanted to focus more on the characters -specifically, the character of Xianglin's wife. In the story, Xianglin's wife is asymbol of unconditional care and love. She is the one who constantly supports her husband and his dreams, even when they seem impossible. She works tirelessly to provide for her family, and even when Xianglin becomes wealthy, she remains humble and grounded.
