Introduction WiththeglobalizationofeducationandtheincreasingnumberofEnglishlearners aroundtheworld,itisessentialforEnglishteacherstoimprovestudents'language skillsnotonlyingrammarbutalsoinlisteningandspeaking.Theteachingof integratedskillsinEnglishallowsstudentstodeveloplanguageproficiencythrough engagingactivitiesandauthenticcontexts.Inthisarticle,wewilldesignapublic Englishlessonfocusingonimprovingstudents'listeningandspeakingabilitiesfor Unit8ofComprehensiveEnglishTeacher. Overview ThislessonisdesignedforaGrade7ComprehensiveEnglishclasswithatotalof45 students.Thelessonaimstoimprovestudents'listeningandspeakingabilitiesby engagingthemindifferentactivitiessuchasinteractiveconversations,role-plays, videowatching,andgroupdiscussions.Thelessonfollowsthreephases:pre-listening, while-listening,andpost-listening.Thelessonwilllastfor60minutes,anditisdivided asfollows: I–Pre-ListeningPhase(15minutes) Inthisphase,theteacherwillactivatestudents'priorknowledgeonthetopicof communication.Theteacherwillelicitstudents'experiencesofcommunication problemstheyencounterintheirdailylives.Then,theteacherwillintroducethe objectivesofthelessonanddemonstratetheuseofsomeusefullanguagethat studentscanusewhilecommunicating. II–While-ListeningPhase(30minutes) Inthisphase,theteacherwillprepareavideofrom"TEDTalks"thatdemonstrates howlanguagecanbeabarriertocommunication.Thevideowillfeaturetwopeople speakingdifferentlanguagestryingtocommunicate,andthestudentswillbeasked towatchthevideoandwritedownwhatbarrierstocommunicationtheynotice.After thevideo,thestudentswillcomeupwithsomestrategiesthatcanbeusedto overcomelanguagebarriersandcommunicateeffectively. III–Post-ListeningPhase(15minutes) Inthepost-listeningphase,theteacherwilldividetheclassintosmallgroupsoffive studentseach.Eachgroupwillbegivenatasktocreateareal-lifesituationwhere theycanpracticeusingthestrategiestheylearnedinthewhile-listeningphase.The teacherwillmonitorthegroupstoensurethateachstudentgetsanopportunityto speak. Conclusion Inconclusion,teachingintegratedskillsinEnglishiscrucialforstudents'language development,especiallyintheareasoflisteningandspeaking.Thislessonplanhas beendesignedtoimprovestudents'abilitiesinthisareaandfeaturesinteractiveand engagingactivitiesthatmakethelessonenjoyableandmemorable.Inconclusion,the teachershouldalwaysaimtohelpstudents'languagedevelopmentinafunand engagingway.
