潘基文世界难民日英语演讲稿：呼吁全球共同应对难民问题 Ladies and gentlemen, Good morning and thank you for joining me on this important day -World Refugee Day. Today, as we commemorate the plight of millions of refugees around the world, we also celebrate their strength, resilience and courage. This year's theme is "Every Action Counts" and Ibelieve that this resonates more than ever in the current climate we find ourselves in. As we speak, there are over 70 million people who have been forcibly displaced from their homes -the highest number in history. This is astaggering number and one that should prompt all of us to take action. These people have been forced to flee their homes due to conflict, persecution, and other forms of violence. They have been denied basic human rights and forced to live in unimaginable conditions. The fact that this number is increasing every year should serve as awakeup call to all of us.
