Inthisstudy,wewillfocusonthesimulationofa three-dimensionalblurringcontrolsystem,particularlyinmedical imaging.Wewillevaluatetheperformanceofthesystemby analyzingthequalityoftheresultingimage,anddiscussthe benefitsofusingthistechnologyinmedicalimaging. Methodology: Tosimulatethethree-dimensionalblurringcontrolsystem,we usedadigitalphantomimagecreatedfromMRIdata.Theimage wasblurredusingaGaussianblurringfilterwithastandard deviationof2.0.Theblurredimagewasthenprocessedusinga three-dimensionalblurringcontrolalgorithm,whichwas implementedinMATLAB. Thealgorithmoperatesbyanalyzingtheblurredimageinthe frequencydomainanddeterminingthetransferfunctionofthe blurringfilter.Thistransferfunctionisthenusedtodesigna blurringcontrolfilterthatisappliedtotheimageinthefrequency domain.Theresultingimageisthentransformedbackintothe spatialdomaintoproducethefinalimage. Results: Weevaluatedtheperformanceofthethree-dimensional blurringcontrolsystembymeasuringtheimagequalitybefore andafterprocessing.Weusedtwoevaluationmetrics,including thepeaksignal-to-noiseratio(PSNR)andthestructuralsimilarity index(SSIM).
