Due to the influence of natural environment and human activities, it has high sensitivity characteristics. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of wetting-freezing-thawing coupling on the sensitivity characteristics of loess and explore the influencing mechanism. The study was carried out through indoor simulation experiments and on-site sample collection. The results showed that wetting-freezing-thawing coupling would aggravate the deformation and stability damage of loess, mainly manifested in the volume shrinkage, strength reduction, and porosity increase of loess. In addition, this process was influenced by multiple factors, including initial water content, freezing-thawing cycle times, and melting speed. In summary, this study provides areference and reference for better understanding of the sensitivity characteristics of loess.
