TranslationbyAnLeZhe AnLeZhe’stranslationofTheAnalectsofConfuciusisa modernChinesetranslationthatoffersanewperspectiveonthe work.HeattemptstoprovideinsightsontheAnalectsthathave notbeenpreviouslypresentedinothertranslationsofthetext. Unlikeothertranslations,AnLeZheenvisionstheAnalectsasa Westerntext,similartothephilosophicalworksproducedin Greece.Asaresult,AnLeZheprovidesaninterpretationthat focusesonthephilosophicalcontentofTheAnalects. Intermsofstyle,AnLeZhetriedtokeephistranslationofthe AnalectsasclosetotheoriginalChineseaspossible.Heaimedto avoidmakingstylisticchangestothetext,whichcouldalterits meaning.However,AnLeZhe’stranslationofTheAnalects differsfromothertranslationsduetoitsphilosophy-centered interpretationofthetext. AnLeZhealsostatedthatthesignificanceofTheAnalectslies initsrelevancetothepresentsocialconditionsofChina.Through histranslation,AnLeZheendeavoredtobreakthebarriersthat mayexistbetweenChinesephilosophyandWesternphilosophy.
