BLOODBORNE PATHOGENS EXPOSURE CONTROL PLAN NAME OF FACILITY _______________________DATE ___________ A. Purpose The purpose of the exposure control plan is to: 1. Eliminate or minimize employee occupational exposure to blood or certain other body fluids; 2. Comply with the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens standard 1910.1030. B. Exposure Determination OSHA requires employers to determine which employees may have work exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials. The exposure determination is made without regard to the use of personal protective equipment (i.e. employees are considered to be exposed even if they wear personal protective equipment). This exposure determination is required to list all job classifications in which all employees may be expected to have such occupational exposure, regardless of frequency.
