By comparing and constructing the mitochondrial cox1 gene sequences, it was confirmed that this Myxosporean belongs to the Myxosporea phylum rather than the Cnidaria phylum. It shows high similarity with Auerbachia magdalensis and Myxobolus spp., but has significant differences from other Myxosporean species. At the same time, it was found that there is aclose parasitic relationship between the Myxosporean larvae and the South China Sea grouper order, which has acertain reference value for the cultivation and management of the South China Sea grouper order.
