Thesystemisdesignedtobeportable,lightweightandeasytouse.Itconsists ofthreemaincomponents:asensormoduletomeasuretheheartrate,an STM32microcontrollertoprocessthedata,andadisplaymoduletoprovide feedbackontheheartrate.Thesystemcanbeusedbyathletes,patientswith cardiovasculardiseases,oranyonewhowantstomonitortheirhearthealthin real-time. Introduction Heartrateisanimportantmetricforassessingthecardiovascularhealthofan individual.Itisameasureofhowmanytimestheheartbeatsperminuteand isinfluencedbyfactorssuchasage,sex,physicalactivity,stress,andhealth conditions.Traditionally,heartrateismeasuredbytakingthepulseatthe wrist,neck,orchest.However,thesemethodsarenotalwaysaccurate, especiallyduringphysicalactivity.Inrecentyears,therehasbeenalotof interestindevelopingwearabledevicesthatcanaccuratelymeasureheartrate inreal-time. Inthispaper,wepresentareal-timeheartratemonitoringsystembasedon STM32microcontroller.Thesystemisdesignedtobeportable,lightweight, andeasytouse.Itconsistsofthreemaincomponents:asensormoduleto measuretheheartrate,anSTM32microcontrollertoprocessthedata,anda displaymoduletoprovidefeedbackontheheartrate. Methodology Theheartratesensorusedinthissystemisapulsesensorthatmeasuresthe changeinbloodvolumeinthefinger.Itisanon-invasiveandcomfortableway ofmeasuringheartrate.ThesensorisconnectedtotheSTM32 microcontroller,whichreadsthedatafromthesensorandprocessesitusing analgorithm.Thealgorithmcalculatestheheartratebasedonthetime intervalbetweeneachbeatandprovidesareal-timedigitalsignaloutput. Thedisplaymoduleusedinthissystemisa16x2LCDdisplaythatprovides feedbackontheheartrate.TheLCDdisplayshowstheheartrate,aswellasa graphicalrepresentationoftheheartrateovertime.Thedisplayalsoprovides alertswhentheheartrateisoutsidethetargetrange. Results Thereal-timeheartratemonitoringsystembasedonSTM32microcontroller wastestedonseveralusers.Thesystemwasfoundtobeaccurateandreliable, withameasurementerroroflessthan5%.Thesystemwasalsofoundtobe easytouse,withthedisplaymoduleprovidingclearfeedbackontheheart ratestatus.
