Introduction: Soil-structureinteractionplaysacrucialroleinthe performanceofstructuresfoundedonsoil.Thecontactinterface betweenthesoilandthestructuresignificantlyaffectsthe distributionofforcesanddisplacements.Understandingthe behaviorofthisinterfaceisessentialforthedesignandanalysisof varioustypesofstructures,includingshallowanddeep foundations,retainingwalls,andundergroundstructures.The interfacebehaviorisinfluencedbyseveralfactors,ofwhichthe normalstiffnessisakeyparameter.
