Method: Thestudyusedamixed-methodsapproach,combining quantitativesurveyandqualitativeinterview.Theparticipants were150vocationalschoolstudentsfromdifferentmajors,who completedanonlinesurveyand20studentswhoparticipatedina semi-structuredinterview. Results: 1.Themainmotivationfactorsforvocationalschoolstudents tolearnEnglishwere:futurejobprospects(72.8%),personal interests(55.2%),academicrequirements(47.6%),andsocial pressure(23.4%). 2.Theobstaclesthatvocationalschoolstudentsfacedin learningEnglishwere:lackofmotivation(31.7%),limited vocabularyandgrammarknowledge(28.1%),lackofspeakingand listeningopportunities(22.5%),andineffectiveteachingmethods (17.7%). 3.VocationalschoolstudentsgenerallyperceivedEnglishas importantfortheirfuturecareers,especiallyforthosewhowould workininternationaltrade,tourism,orforeigncompanies.
